Convert logging mills into badly needed housing

It's been done in many places when the era of a particular industry fades away: cover factories, warehouses, mills and barns into housing. Vancouver Island communities should be doing that with unproductive mills, since housing in Island communities is hard to come by. Made affordable, young people could move out of over-dense Greater Victoria to other towns.

What work would they find? What work always needs to be done when a community is started or re-started? Entrepreneurs need to provide food (growers and retailers), clothing, furniture, services (plumbers, builders, mechanics, gardeners, babysitters, delivery people … dentists, lawyers, doctors, pharmacists …). Teachers, nurses, home caregivers, coaches in everything ... and there's always the online job site (writers, marketers, accountants … you name it …) So, you get the idea .. Canada was built by enterprising people setting up businesses and suppliers in frontier towns where none was before. So carry on, Canadians. We don't need to destroy every last forest and the fish population. It's not a choice between depleting resources or doing nothing. Let's go back to our inventive heritage.
